jimmie johnson and jeff gordonThe Sprint Cup Series in NASCAR moves to Las Vegas this week for the Shelby American on Sunday at 3pm ET on FOX. Jimmie Johnson is the 4-1 favorite in NASCAR lines at SBG Global but there are a number of other contenders. Johnson is coming off a win last week at California and has won this race three times (2005-2007). He has had problems the last two years though, finishing 24th and 29th. It is pretty much all or nothing for Johnson in Las Vegas which is just how it is for many gamblers who visit the city.

Jeff Gordon has not started this season very well but he could turn things around in Vegas. He won this race in 2001 and in the past five years he has finished sixth or better in four of the five races. Gordon is 9-1 in NASCAR wagering lines to win this race at SBG Global. Tony Stewart is another driver off to a slow start this season. He finished 22nd at Daytona and 9th last week in California. He really wants to win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway since he has never won a race there. He is 10-1 in NASCAR odds. “These early races teach you very quickly where your program is compared to the competition,” said Stewart, “If your cars are good, you’ll run well at California, Vegas, Atlanta, Texas and so on. Everybody wants to know where they stack up and shake up right now. If you can get off to a good start, it shows that your program is really where it needs to be. This is a huge week.”

When you are talking about Las Vegas you can’t forget about the Busch brothers. This is their hometown and both of them love the track. Kyle won last year and he is the third choice this week behind Johnson and Mark Martin in NASCAR lines. Kyle won the pole last year and was dominant all weekend. He has four top-10s in six starts at Las Vegas. His brother Kurt is not getting much attention this week and could be an interesting longshot at 16-1.

Don’t forget about the Rousch cars in Las Vegas since they have won six of the twelve Cup races. Greg Biffle has not been among those winners so he could be due at odds of 13-1. Carl Edwards is 16-1 while Matt Kenseth is 18-1.

Dallas Mavericks vs Atlanta Hawks NBA Wagering Lines

mavericks cheerleaderThe Dallas Mavericks will try and extend their NBA wagering season high five-game winning streak on Friday in Atlanta in a game that can be seen on ESPN at 7:05pm ET. It will not be easy considering the Hawks are 18-8 this season against Western Conference teams including 10-1 at home. "Atlanta is a tough team," Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki said. "They beat us here last time. So we’ll see what happens. They’re very athletic; they really gave us trouble with their athleticism the last time." Atlanta has not swept the Mavericks in a season series in six years. The Hawks are 3 point NBA wagering lines favorites with a total of 195 at SBG Global Sportsbook.

Dallas has been a much better team since they got Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood from the Washington Wizards in a trade. They have held opponents to 43.6 percent shooting in the seven NBA wagering games since the trade. Even DeShawn Stevenson, who was also part of that trade, is contributing. He got his first start on Wednesday and shutdown Kobe Bryant in Dallas’ 101-96 win over the Lakers. "We’ve been playing pretty good defense with the new guys," guard Jason Kidd said. "This was another example where our shots weren’t going down, but we relied on our defense and got some stops." Caron Butler did not play in that game due to illness. "I am really proud of the guys how they battled without Caron," said Nowitzki, “Hopefully, we can get him back soon."

Atlanta has won six of their last seven at home. Josh Smith had 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in their win over Minnesota on Wednesday. "He was all over the place," coach Mike Woodson said. "He blocked some shots. He scored for us, made some free throws. He was solid from beginning to end, and we’re going to need him the rest of the way."

The Hawks got 31 points from Joe Johnson in their win over Dallas back in December. Nowitzki led Dallas with 32 points. Even though Dallas is playing better lately, their overall sports wagering lines trends are still poor. They are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 games overall and they are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. the Southeast. The Mavericks are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Atlanta. The Under is 11-5 in the Mavericks last 16 vs. the Southeast. The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics Wagering Lines

rajon rondoThe Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics meet for the second time this season on Thursday night at the Boston Garden in a NBA wagering game that can be seen on TNT at 8:05pm ET. The teams have not met since opening night when the Celtics won 95-89. Both teams are coming off wins as Cleveland ended a three-game losing streak with a win over New Orleans on Tuesday while Boston won at home against New York even though leading scorer Paul Pierce did not play. The Cavaliers are a 2.5 point wagering lines favorite at SBG Global Sportsbook with a total of 193.

Boston was able to survive on Tuesday without Pierce who sat out due to the flu and a sore thumb. He is questionable tonight. Rajon Rondo had 15 points and had 16 assists in the win over the Knicks while Ray Allen had 24 points. Marquis Daniels filled in for Pierce and had 14 points.

The Cavaliers got 20 points and 13 assists from LeBron James as they defeated New Orleans on Tuesday. Antawn Jamison scored 18 points in his first start and the Cavaliers ended their three-game losing streak. "It feels good to get one," Jamison said. "It wasn’t pretty, but those are the games you have to find a way to get a victory and we found a way to do that." Even though the Cavaliers won, they were not happy with the way they played defensively. "We’re definitely not where we want to be [defensively] right now," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "Everybody feels it and we’ve got to fight through it." The Cavaliers still have the best record in the Eastern Conference and LeBron was not worried about the losing streak. "There’s 82 games in the NBA wagering lines regular season. You’ll have ups and downs," James said. "We’ve had way more ups than downs. We have the best record in the Eastern Conference and one of the best records in the league. You can go two or three games where you don’t win a game. That’s not our worries.

The Cavaliers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Cavaliers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. the Atlantic. The Cavaliers are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Boston. The Celtics are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 home games. The Celtics are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Celtics are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. the Central. The Over is 5-2-1 in the Cavaliers last 8 overall. The Under is 6-2 in the Celtics last 8 overall.
