The New Orleans Hornets host the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night for the first of two NBA wagering double header games at 8:00 PM EST on TNT. New Orleans had their season twisted upside down when center Tyson Chandler was traded to Oklahoma City only to have the Thunder rescind the trade after he failed the physical. New Orleans is a -6 spread favorite and the game has a 193 point over/under.

Chandler returned to the Hornets five games ago and has helped them go 5-0 straight-up with his infusion of rebounding and defense. The downside has been from a betting perspective as they only covered the spread one of those five games.

Dallas has played well at home lately with a five-game winning streak (4-1 ATS) pending the conclusion of their Wednesday night game against San Antonio. The road has been a different story, even though they only played four away games in the last month. Dallas is 0-4 straight-up and ATS including a loss at lowly Oklahoma City on Monday.

Note that the Mavs have been respectable in back-to-back situations, going 5-6 ATS overall, while New Orleans is well rested after last playing on Monday.

The favorite is 7-2 ATS in the last nine meeting betweens the teams which could bode well for the home Hornets.
